A beautiful vintage post card from the early 1900's which is one of "28 original lithographs by artists of Plinio Colombi photographs in Photochromism-mannered"

The English translation from back: "the market street, the central and most beautiful part of the berndurchzienhenden road course, seen through the torbgen of kafigturms"

Divided back

Card has writing and is cancelled 1911 with a foreign stamp.

Please note the picture and grading carefully.

A wonderful new set of vintage Beagle Puppy Invitations with Thank you postcards. Front says "Please Come to My Party." And who could resist those puppy eyes. Back of cards has the traditional invite information. Thank you cards has a cute Yellow Lab (note I am not an expert on dogs but it certainly looks like a Lab puppy or a Golden Retriever puppy pretty sure it is a Lab though.) The Thank You note puppy is holding a sign in his mouth saying "Thank You!" The set comes with a checklist.

~~~JESUS DEATH - 60 SECONDS ~~~60 seconds with God...

For the next 60 seconds,

set aside whatever you're doing and take this opportunity!

Let's see if Satan can stop this...

THE (SCIENTIFIC) DEATH OF JESUS
At the age of 33, Jesus was condemned to the death penalty.

At the time crucifixion was the "worst" death.

Only the worst criminals condemned to be crucified.

Yet it was even more dreadful for Jesus,

for unlike other criminals condemned to death by crucifixion

Jesus was nailed to the cross by His hands and feet, rather than tied...

Each nail was 6 to 8 inches long. The nails were driven into His wrist.

Not into His palms as is commonly portrayed. There's a tendon in the wrist that extends to the shoulder. The Roman guards knew that when the nails were being hammered into the Wrist, that tendon would tear and break, forcing Jesus to use His back muscles to support himself, so that He could breathe.

Both of His feet were nailed together.

Thus He was forced to support Himself on the single nail that impaled His feet to the cross. Jesus could not support himself with His legs for long because of the pain, so He was forced to alternate between arching His back and using his legs just to continue to breath. Imagine the struggle, the pain, the suffering, the courage.

Jesus endured this reality for over 3 hours. Yes, over 3 hours!

Can you imagine this kind of suffering? A few minutes before He died, Jesus stopped bleeding. He was simply pouring water from his wounds.
From common images we see wounds to His hands and feet and even the spear wound to His side... But do we remember the many wounds made to his body. A hammer driving large nails through the wrists, the feet overlapped and a nail hammered through the arches, then a Roman guard piercing His side with a spear. And... before the nails and the spear, Jesus was whipped and beaten. The whipping was so severe that it tore the flesh from His body. The beating so horrific that His face was torn and his beard ripped from His face. The crown of thorns (two to three inch thorns) cut deeply into His scalp. Most men would not have survived this torture.

He had no more blood to bleed out, only water poured from His wounds.

The human adult body contains about 3.5 liters (just less than a gallon) of blood.

Jesus poured all 3.5 liters of his blood;

He had three nails hammered into His members;

a crown of thorns on His head and, beyond that,

a Roman soldier who stabbed a spear into His chest..

All these without mentioning the humiliation He passed after carrying

His own cross for almost 2 kilometers,

while the crowd spat in his face and threw stones (the cross beam was almost 30 kg of weight, to which His hands were nailed).

Jesus had to endure this experience, so that you may have free access to God.

So that your sins can be "washed" away.

All of them, with no exception! Don't ignore this.JESUS CHRIST DIED...FOR YOU!For you, who now read this blog. Do not believe that He only died for others (those who go to church or for pastors, bishops, etc). He died for you!
It is easy to e-mail jokes or silly photos, but when it comes to God,

sometimes we feel ashamed to forward a message about Him on to others.

We are worried of what they "may think."

Accept the reality, the truth, that

JESUS IS THE ONLY SALVATION FOR THE WORLD.

God has special plans for YOU!

John 3:16." For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
I have creadted this unique wall hanging to be an inspiration as well as a conversation piece. That is why I only place the citation on the wall hanging and not the actual Bible verse.
Each ceramic plaque comes with a card with the full quote. It would look great on a front door, in your living room, bedroom or hanging from a window.
Each peice was made by me in my studio here in the Holyland.
This ceramic wall design was made from rolled out clay. It was then hand stamped and fired to bisque clay.Glazes were rubbed off to give a parchment type look and colorful glazes were applied to add accent to the design. The tile was then fired again to protect it and make it able to be hung outside or inside. The hanger is made from copper wire with glass beads of various colors. No 2 pieces are ever exactly alike. All plaques are hand made and have natural variations that make each one unique.
Each piece is hand signed on the back by me. The plaque measures approximately 6 and 1/2 inches wide by 4 and 1/2 inches in height.
If you prefer different colors or a different Bible verse, I will be happy to do that. Please allow 2 - 3 weeks for special orders.

Time Alone with Jesus

Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.

Luke 5:16

Often when I am under stress and pressure, I feel one of my greatest needs is to get a good night's sleep. But I've found that physical rest alone is not enough to revive my flagging spirit. I need the spiritual revival that comes from spending quiet time alone with Jesus in prayer and in thoughtful meditation on His Word.

A careful study of the life of Jesus reveals that as pressed as He was, He "often withdrew to lonely places and prayed." If Jesus felt He needed time alone in prayer with His Father, why do you and I think we can get by without it? How is your prayer life? Could some of the exhaustion you are feeling be the result of simple prayerlessness? How motivating it has been for me to view my early morning devotions as times of retreat alone with Jesus, Who desires that I "come with Him by myself to a quiet place" in order to pray, read His Word, listen for His voice, and be renewed in my spirit.

Observations On Growing Older

~Your Kids are becoming you...and you don't like them!

~Going Out is good.. Coming Home is better!
~You Forget names .... But it's OK because other people forgot they Even knew you!!!
~You realize you're never going to be really good at anything .... Especially Golf.

~Your spouse is counting on you to remember things you don't remember.

~The things you used to care to do, you no longer care to do, but you really do care that you don't care to do them anymore.

~Your husband sleeps better on a lounge chair with the TV blaring than he does in bed. It's Called " Pre-sleep".

~You miss the days when everything worked with just an " ON" and " OFF" Switch..
~You tend to use more 4 letter words ... " what?" .......
" when?"... ???

~Now that you can afford expensive jewelry, it's not safe to wear it anywhere.

~You notice everything sold in stores is " sleeveless" !!!!

~What used to be freckles are now liver spots.

~Everybody Whispers.

~Now that your husband has retired ..... You'd give anything if he'd find a job!

~You have 3 sizes of clothes in your closet .... 2 of which you will never wear.

If you know me, you know I like to use all scraps and not waste anything.

Here's some Valentines that I made for church members with left over wallpaper, the reverse side of calendar card stock from 2011 and scrapbook paper scraps.

I left them blank on the back so the members can give them to someone for Valentine's Day.

I have been taking small items I made and didn't list and tagging them with Valentine's cards from our Youth at church. They are making a delivery to the nursing home closest to our church the Sunday before Valentine's Day and delivering them and Valentine's they made to the residents there.

My parents will be laid to rest today

Today, my parents will be laid to rest.

My Dad died of a heart attack on 1/31/2008.

My Mom died of a heart attack on 11/17/2009.

Today their cremains will be laid to rest in a Military Cemetery,

with my Dad receiving full Military Honors.
He was a Captain in the ARMY and served in the Korean War.

I could not afford to travel across the country for their burial.

It was really bothering me, but then a peace came over me.

I could just hear my Dad telling me it was OK

because they weren't there.

They are in heaven.

So many memories and emotions are flowing.
A truly heavy heart.

If you still have your parents, stop whatever you are doing right now,

and tell them you love them.

Take my Son.....

A wealthy man and his son loved to collect rare works of art. They had everything in their collection, fromPicasso to Raphael. They would often sit together and admire the great works of art..

When the Vietnamconflict broke out, the son went to war. He was very courageous and died in battle while rescuing another soldier. The father was notified and grieved deeply for his only son.

About a month later, just before Christmas,

There was a knock at the door. A young man stood at the door with a large package in his hands..

He said, 'Sir, you don't know me, but I am the soldier for whom your son gave his life. He saved many lives that day, and he was carrying me to safety when a bullet struck him in the heart and he died instantly... He often talked about you, and your love for art.' The young man held out this package. 'I know this isn't much. I'm not really a great artist, but I think your son would have wanted you to have this.'

The father

Opened the package. It was a portrait of his son, painted by the young man. He stared in awe at the way the soldier had captured the personality of his son in the painting. The father was so drawn to the eyes that his own eyes welled up with tears. He thanked the young man and offered to pay him for the picture.. 'Oh, no sir, I could never repay what your son did for me. It's a gift.'

The father hung the portrait over his mantle. Every time visitors came to his home he took them to see the portrait of his son before he showed them any of the other great works he had collected.

The man died a few months later. There was to be a great auction of his paintings. Many influential people gathered, excited over seeing the great paintings and having an opportunity to purchase one for their collection.

On the platform sat the painting of the son. The auctioneer pounded his gavel. 'We will start the bidding with this picture of the son. Who will bid for this picture?'

There was silence...

Then a voice in the back of the room shouted, 'We want to see the famous paintings. Skip this one.'

But the auctioneer persisted. 'Will somebody bid for this painting? Who will start the bidding? $100, $200?'

Another voice angrily. 'We didn't come to see this painting. We came to see the Van Gogh's, the Rembrandts. Get on with the Real bids!'

But still the auctioneer continued. 'The son! The son! Who'll take the son?'

Finally, a voice came from the very back of the room. It was the longtime gardener of the man and his son. 'I'll give $10 for the painting...' Being a poor man, it was all he could afford.

'We have $10, who will bid $20?'

'Give it to him for $10. Let's see the masters.'

The crowd was becoming angry. They didn't want the picture of the son.

They wanted the more worthy investments for their collections.

The auctioneer pounded the gavel.. 'Going once, twice, SOLD for $10!'

A man sitting on the second row shouted, 'Now let's get on with the collection!'

The auctioneer laid down his gavel. 'I'm sorry, the auction is over.'

'What about the paintings?'

'I am sorry. When I was called to conduct this auction, I was told of a secret stipulation in the will... I was not allowed to reveal that stipulation until this time. Only the painting of the son would be auctioned. Whoever bought that painting would inherit the entire estate, including the paintings.

The man who took the son gets everything!'

God gave His son over 2,000 years ago to die on the Cross. Much like the auctioneer, His message today is: 'The Son, the Son, who'll take the Son?'

Because, you see, whoever takes the Son gets everything!

FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, WHO SO EVER BELIEVETH, SHALL HAVE ETERNAL LIFE...THAT'S LOVE

This piece is slightly oxidized to bring out the patterning in the silver. The rectangle is 3/4" long and 3/8" wide. There are three layers of silver under the bezel set semi-precious stone.
The bail is simple in form, however, handmade, in order to let the garnet and silver setting take center stage. A very unique design; definitely one of a kind. This is a very delicate yet eye-catching piece.

There once was a man named George Thomas, pastor in a small New England town. One Easter Sunday morning he came to the Church carrying a rusty, bent, old bird cage, and set it by the pulpit. Eyebrows were raised and, as if in response, Pastor Thomas began to speak....

"I was walking through town yesterday when I saw a young boy coming toward me swinging this bird cage. On the bottom of the cage were three little wild birds, shivering with cold and fright.

I stopped the lad and asked, "What do you have there, son?"

"Just some old birds," came the reply.

"What are you going to do with them?" I asked.

"Take 'em home and have fun with 'em," he answered. "I'm gonna tease 'em and pull out their feathers to make 'em fight. I'm gonna have a real good time."

"But you'll get tired of those birds sooner or later. What will you do then?"

"Oh, I got some cats," said the little boy. "They like birds. I'll take 'em to them."

The pastor was silent for a moment. "How much do you want for those birds, son?"

"Huh?? !!! Why, you don't want them birds, mister.

They're just plain old field birds. They don't sing. They ain't even pretty!"

"How much?" the pastor asked again.

The boy sized up the pastor as if he were crazy and said, "$10?"

The pastor reached in his pocket and took out a ten dollar bill. He placed it in the boy's hand. In a flash, the boy was gone. The pastor picked up the cage and gently carried it to the end of the alley where there was a tree and a grassy spot. Setting the cage down, he opened the door, and by softly tapping the bars persuaded the birds out, setting them free. Well, that explained the empty bird cage on the pulpit, and then the pastor began to tell this story:

One day Satan and Jesus were having a conversation. Satan had just come from the Garden of Eden, and he was gloating and boasting. "Yes, sir, I just caught a world full of people down there. Set me a trap, used bait I knew they couldn't resist. Got 'em all!"

"What are you going to do with them?" Jesus asked.

Satan replied, "Oh, I'm gonna have fun! I'm gonna teach them how to marry and divorce each other, how to hate and abuse each other, how to drink and smoke and curse. I'm gonna teach them how to invent guns and bombs and kill each other. I'm really gonna have fun!"

"And what will you do when you are done with them" Jesus asked?

"Oh, I'll kill 'em," Satan glared proudly.

"How much do you want for them?" Jesus asked.

"Oh, you don't want those people. They ain't no good. Why, you'll take them and they'll just hate you. They'll spit on you, curse you and kill you. You don't want those people!!"

"How much? He asked again.

Satan looked at Jesus and sneered, "All your blood, tears and your life."

Jesus said, "DONE!" Then He paid the price.

The pastor picked up the cage and walked from the pulpit.

I pray, for everyone who reads this, that God will bless them in a special way.

I thank God everyday for my blessed life. I'm not rich, don't live in a mansion and don't have the nicest of material things, but, I have a roof over my head, clothes on my back, food on my table, a family that loves me and lifelong friends to get me through. I'd say I have a lot to be thankful for.
